Piccini 1882

Fifth generation arrives. After writing 140 years of history, Piccini continues to think about its future

Since 2017, the company has opened its doors to the fifth generation, continuing a 140-year-old family tradition. With grit and dynamism, Ginevra, Benedetta and Michelangelo have brought new ideas and charted new courses, aiming to carry the Piccini flag high.

“For us,” Benedetta comments, “the company is like a sister, so much so that we enjoy calling it ‘the first-born’ in the family.”

“Sometimes,” interjects Ginevra, “it is complicated to separate the work dimension from the family dimension, but we like it that way: we never stop wearing the shoes of the Italian wine family.”

“Of course, as long as we agree, everything is beautiful,” jokes Michelangelo.

What is striking, listening to the three young men, is the perfect harmony that is ignited in their words. While retaining their distinct and distinct personalities, they resonate in unison, like the instruments of a philharmonic. The conductor of this exceptional trio is obviously their father Mario, who is guiding his boys with experience and shrewdness.

“Father is a volcanic man,” Geneva points out, “he is an entrepreneur who was ahead of his time.”

“He is a visionary,” Michelangelo echoes her, “at times he seems to have the ability to read the future. However, we still don’t know where he hides his crystal ball. Joking aside, he is an entrepreneur with an exceptional flair: he manages to interpret market trends, constantly launching himself into new projects, with ambition, intelligence and a pinch of courage.”

“It is a privilege for us to be able to follow his teachings,” Benedetta added, “both as CEO and as a father. Over the years, he has passed on to us his greatest value: love of family. Our union has always been his greatest source of happiness. After all, at home and at work, first and foremost, we are a family.”

The words of the three boys hit the mark: in every corner of the company there is a family atmosphere. Every morning, Mario does the honors by peeping through the door of each office to greet them with his smile. A simple gesture, yet never trivial.

“It will be hard to replicate our father’s successes,” Geneva notes, “times have changed and market challenges are not the same as they were 30 years ago. Competition has become fiercer and consumer needs are constantly shifting. However, Mario’s great merit is that he has shaped a dynamic company that has made flexibility its signature style.”

“Receiving this inheritance is undoubtedly an incentive, but also a huge responsibility,” Benedetta concludes, “each generation, over time, has left its mark, its trademark. We have entered on tiptoe, but we have every intention of leaving our mark, as our ancestors did before us. After all, as we always say, at Piccini we look forward, by tradition.”

“We are a team,” exclaims Michelangelo, “challenges do not scare us. No one says it will be easy to prove ourselves, but we are tough, ‘Piccini’ only by last name.”
