The story of the Piccini family began in 1882, among the hills of Chianti. Here, young Angiolo, heir to a family of merchants, pursued his dream by founding a small winery in the heart of Tuscany. From this land, Angiolo and his descendants carried the Piccini name to every corner of the world, shaping the destiny of Tuscan wine. From generation to generation, the winery has continued to face the future with courage and ambition.
Since 1882, Piccini has proudly preserved its Tuscan heritage, spreading its presence throughout Italy. In 2011, Mario Piccini, president of the group, launched a new line to celebrate its homeland: Memoro. Created for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy, Memoro, which means “memory,” pays homage to our Latin roots through one of Italy’s greatest treasures: wine.
“Memoro,” says Mario Piccini, “is the result of extensive research, travel and tastings. I wanted to challenge myself and create something completely new and unique: a high-quality Italian wine without a specific vintage, a wine without borders, a wine that embodies the essence of Italy, proving that quality has no limits! That is why Memoro combines the best grapes from four regions of Italy, highlighting the unity of our country with the goal of creating the best blend of the Bel Paese.”
From this vision was born Memoro Bianco, a blend of Pecorino from Le Marche, Sicilian Viognier, Chardonnay from Trentino and Vermentino from our beloved Tuscany. The diverse origins of the grapes give Memoro Bianco extraordinary balance and unique characteristics: delicate notes of white and yellow fruits mingle with vibrant tropical notes. The fresh, clear palate offers a brilliant concentration of fruit, with hints of pear leading to a delicious finish.
Memoro Rosé takes you on a journey through Italy with Negroamaro from Puglia, Nero d’Avola from Sicily, Merlot from Veneto and Montepulciano from Abruzzo. The result is a classic Italian rosé with a full, crisp flavor. Its aroma is immediately appealing, with hints of raspberry, red currant and a subtle mint. These fruity flavors continue on the palate, with shots of cherry and nuances of strawberry and raspberry. The finish is fresh and clear, making for a pleasant sip every time.
