Papaleto
Angiolo Piccini’s father was a great fan of theater, especially Shakespeare’s plays. Whenever they gave a play by the English bard at the theater, he never missed an opportunity to attend. In his family, they then began affectionately calling him “Hamlet,” after the famous Shakespearean character he was in love with. But the word proved hostile to little Angiolo, who sweetly called him “Papa Leto.” From this tender epithet, Papaleto was born, reminiscent of our progenitor’s father, recalling that family air that is still the company mantra today.
